I was reminded the other day, it was this weekend last year, I was in Finnstown Castle with some beautiful people (and some random lads with a load of cider.... )
Well I figured 12 months is about enough time.... I really should post some of those images on my site!
When I dropped Tara a message for the all clear, not alone did she agree, but she even went so far as to write a few words to go with them!
"John beasley, the ninja photographer! i have been to three weddings now, including my own, with john being the photographer, as everyone who sees him in action instantly falls in love with him and want him for themselves when their time comes!
He has an uncanny ability to put everyone into a great sense of calm on the day and takes care of much much more than just the photography, he has earned his reputation as the ninja photographer from his bag of tricks that accompany him wherever he goes, from this bag i have seen him whip out hairspray, compede plasters for the girls feet, a watch repair kit, and bubbles to settle a crying child, and thats just to name a few, perhaps we should have named him mary poppins instead. John makes you instantly feel at ease in his presence projecting a great sense of calm throughout the entire experience all the while taking the most incredibly natural photos of every aspect of the day. The best thing about having John as your photographer is not only the unbelievably stunning photos that he manages to capture even in the most mundane surroundings but the fact that by the end of the day you know you have made a friend for life. I know several people who arent even engaged yet but already know who there wedding photographer will be. A gentle giant that could give inspector gadget a run for his money!"
Last summer, I got to spend an epic day in the sun Eva & Stephen at the Cliff at Lyons in Kildare.
I was going to try write a few words, but hopefully the images will say it all for me and nothing I could say would be as good as what Eva & Stephen wrote.
(yeah, Im Lovin being called a viking :) )
John's level of skill as a photographer speaks for itself. What you may not be able to tell from his photographs is how amazing John is as a person. his kindness, his humour, his calm levelheadedness on what is, let's face it, probably the most hectic day of anyone's life. He was our fairy godfather, going above and beyond his duty to make our wedding day run smoothly. We know for a fact the day would not have been as fun without him. We would recommend him in a heartbeat.
The Man. The Viking. The Legend.
On our wedding day John played the role of a stunning photographer, wedding coordinator, breakfast chef, tea maker, waiter, dancer and was practically like family by the end of it all!
He showed such great professionalism, a hard working ethic, incredible vision and a love for the job, not only on the day, but throughout the entire process. It truly was a pleasure to have him as our photographer and to have him there to celebrate with us. He was great fun and really made an impression on our guests too.
I am amazed at how many fantastic pictures we have and I have no idea how, or even when, he took them! Our house is tiny with very limited wall space - so we'll have to work out a rotation system for all the amazing shots to be displayed!
When it comes to weddings, everybody has their own style and interests , but I think John’s exceptional skills and personality could translate over to any kind of event. I would, of course, 100% recommend John to all future brides & grooms - and I've been raving about him to anyone that will listen!
John - Thank you - a thousand times over!"
The sun shined, bubbles were drank on the lawn and that evening as the dancing went into overdrive we even got to watch the perseid meteor shower! Not too bad for a day at the office :)
Sandra and Mark even took the time to write a few words for me :)
"So…..I’ve been trying to think of what to write about John as our wedding photographer, and I
realised that the reason I was finding it difficult was because he was so much more than just the
We had contacted John, among other photographers, in the planning stage and from his email
response we automatically felt at ease and thought, “Ya, I like his style”.
The morning of a wedding, in any house I think, is a sort calm happy chaos. John walked in and
slotted right into the pace of the house. His calm, efficient and friendly ways kept everything on
track, moving everything along and smoothing out any little ruffle (often before anyone had noticed
there was a ruffle!)
John mixed through the crowd on the day to ensure some fantastic photos of people who were
completely at ease in his presence and manage to “corral” the group shots without anyone noticing.
But when you hire someone to photograph your wedding, you don’t just want a good guy to turn up,
he has to be able to take the photos too. And were we delighted with the photos we got! John’s easy
going manner belies the fact that he is meticulously professional and had researched the area for
the best shots prior to the wedding. Without lists, stress or bother, he got all the shots we’d asked
for and all the ones we hadn’t even thought of, without anyone ever noticing that there was a
photographer present. The finished product was stunning.
Hand on heart I would fully endorse John and Weddings by John Beasley"
I first met Anna and Alex when they were home just before Christmas last year.
They had flown home from Germany so Alex could experience a proper Irish Christmas and as a side note, organise a complete wedding in a week for in only 6 months time!
To her credit Anna seemed to just revel in the Christmas madness and all the hair/make up trials and ring fittings were just an added bonus!
It truly seems like a life time ago now sitting here writing this in the summer heat, but last week, we got to spend an absolutely amazing day in the hidden gem (well, hidden for me anyway down here in Cork...) An Grianan, Co Louth. A country house well worth popping in for a coffee and a stroll around their beautiful and historic grounds (that and they have possibly Ireland's nicest chef working for them but that's a whole other story :) )
Before I get to the photo's, here are a few kind words Anna sent to me for the testimonial section of my site.
