So in the very recent past, I got to share some time with two utter music fanatics. Definitely one of the funkiest table plans I had seen in a while! (one of the benefits of a graphic designer brother and brother in law!!!)
Ciaras stunning dress came from Say I Do in Midleton, her make up was Leon Sheehan makeup and all the girls hair was taken care of by their next door neighbour (handy or what!) Pamela from Sobe Brown and as always it was great to be back working with Thomas for the wedding video.
From the funky home made flower bouquets to the father in law's to be freshly refurbished vintage car, it was a proper family affair
We had some crack wandering round a river bank and climbing through some wild flowers before we made our way back to Oriel house for the evenings festivities with The Stars ( who were only up staged slightly by the Murphy family band for the interlude...)
So I thought I might share just a little snippet of the crack we had :)
I still remember the morning when I first met Patricia to discuss photographing her wedding. The feeling of sheer excitement upon hearing the details of what she had in mind for her & Aonghus’ big day was infectious.
Theirs was to be a small family wedding in Gougane Barra, a few pints in the local hotel bar afterwards and then potter onto Blair’s cove for an amazing dinner & a little bit of dancing.
I’m a man of simple pleasures myself so this was like an idea from my own heart. So what else could I possibly say when, during the proceedings, Patricia said “We'd love to go for a walk if you’re up for taking a drive...”
Now… there is a little more to it than just a spin - Patricia's family home overlooks Dunmanus bay so she had grown up walking this road. In later years, as Aonghus would sail away out to sea with the Irish Navy, she would sit – talking on the phone, watching out to the mouth of the bay as he travelled out of phone reception. Romantic Ireland is still alive and well in 2017.
All day long we had fantastic weather but that sunset on top of the mountain, catching a glimpse of the happy couple’s new future, has to be one of my favourite moments all summer
Im so glad Patricia and Aonghus have allowed me to share some images from their amazing day, but the few words they had sent me to go with it just makes this all the more special for me.
"When I met John I instantly knew he was the guy to capture our wedding day pictures. He’s personable, honest, direct and has such a distinct and gorgeous photography style. John was so easy going and good at making us feel calm. It was like we already knew him. We needed that kind of soul to be part of our wedding day so we could relax with all those cameras being directed at us. However, it was like he was an extension of the day, subtlety
clicking away and naturally mingling with the crowd and genuinely adding to the fantastic atmosphere. He went way beyond the call of duty for us. He really did work his tail off to ensure we were happy. He was a friend, a tailor, a counsellor, an entertainer, a taxi man and so much more all wrapped up into one amazingly talented wedding photographer.
One of the biggest comments from our guests was how great John was on the day. Due to this his name has being spread far and wide for very good
reason. I only have to take a look at the breath taking photos he captured to be lifted back to that awesome day. Those photos never fail to make me
smile because we clearly were absolutely honoured to have him play such a large role on our wedding day.
We would gladly recommend this big hearted gent to everyone."
Patricia & Aonghus
I was reminded the other day, it was this weekend last year, I was in Finnstown Castle with some beautiful people (and some random lads with a load of cider.... )
Well I figured 12 months is about enough time.... I really should post some of those images on my site!
When I dropped Tara a message for the all clear, not alone did she agree, but she even went so far as to write a few words to go with them!
"John beasley, the ninja photographer! i have been to three weddings now, including my own, with john being the photographer, as everyone who sees him in action instantly falls in love with him and want him for themselves when their time comes!
He has an uncanny ability to put everyone into a great sense of calm on the day and takes care of much much more than just the photography, he has earned his reputation as the ninja photographer from his bag of tricks that accompany him wherever he goes, from this bag i have seen him whip out hairspray, compede plasters for the girls feet, a watch repair kit, and bubbles to settle a crying child, and thats just to name a few, perhaps we should have named him mary poppins instead. John makes you instantly feel at ease in his presence projecting a great sense of calm throughout the entire experience all the while taking the most incredibly natural photos of every aspect of the day. The best thing about having John as your photographer is not only the unbelievably stunning photos that he manages to capture even in the most mundane surroundings but the fact that by the end of the day you know you have made a friend for life. I know several people who arent even engaged yet but already know who there wedding photographer will be. A gentle giant that could give inspector gadget a run for his money!"
Last summer, I got to spend an epic day in the sun Eva & Stephen at the Cliff at Lyons in Kildare.
I was going to try write a few words, but hopefully the images will say it all for me and nothing I could say would be as good as what Eva & Stephen wrote.
(yeah, Im Lovin being called a viking :) )
John's level of skill as a photographer speaks for itself. What you may not be able to tell from his photographs is how amazing John is as a person. his kindness, his humour, his calm levelheadedness on what is, let's face it, probably the most hectic day of anyone's life. He was our fairy godfather, going above and beyond his duty to make our wedding day run smoothly. We know for a fact the day would not have been as fun without him. We would recommend him in a heartbeat.
The Man. The Viking. The Legend.
On our wedding day John played the role of a stunning photographer, wedding coordinator, breakfast chef, tea maker, waiter, dancer and was practically like family by the end of it all!
He showed such great professionalism, a hard working ethic, incredible vision and a love for the job, not only on the day, but throughout the entire process. It truly was a pleasure to have him as our photographer and to have him there to celebrate with us. He was great fun and really made an impression on our guests too.
I am amazed at how many fantastic pictures we have and I have no idea how, or even when, he took them! Our house is tiny with very limited wall space - so we'll have to work out a rotation system for all the amazing shots to be displayed!
When it comes to weddings, everybody has their own style and interests , but I think John’s exceptional skills and personality could translate over to any kind of event. I would, of course, 100% recommend John to all future brides & grooms - and I've been raving about him to anyone that will listen!
John - Thank you - a thousand times over!"
